Campus Shuttle

  • Shuttles operate Monday - Friday 6:30am - 6:30pm.
  • NightCat operates Monday - Friday 6:00pm-12:30am.

Shuttles may be full during peak hours (7-9am). Please allow yourself 30 minutes travel time. Access from the 9008 lot (Mauve Route); 9005, 9007, 9009 lots (Orange Route); and 9006 (USA Route) is restricted to permit holders and University affiliated area residents with paid boarding passes. Around Tucson

Buses

Visit the website for a trip planning tool. Fare is $1.00; day pass is $2.00. Route map (see the SunTran web site for schedule).

Traveling to and from Tucson Intl. Airport

Buses from the airport to the Downtown leave approximately hourly, and cost $1.25 for a 45-minute trip. Take Route 6 from the ground level.

  • If you’re staying at Hotel Congress, just off the station main entrance at Congress, walk one block to your left.
  • If you’re staying at The Hotel Arizona, walk to your right (about 4 blocks) until you see the restaurant Enoteca. Then, take a left up to Broadway. The Hotel is right there.
  • If you’re staying at The Roadrunner, walk to your left on Congress up to 5th avenue (there’s a small coffee shop at the corner of Congress and 5th called Toole’s). Make a right on 5th and walk 2 blocks up to 12th st. Then make a left and walk 2 blocks. The hostel is in the corner of 12th st and 3rd ave.

Taxis / Shuttles are also available at the airport on the ground level and cost approx. $20-30, and the trip will take about 20 minutes.

Transportation to the university

The easiest way to get to the University from the downtown area is by taking the free shuttle serving the downtown area:

  • TICET You should take the Red Line, which goes all the way to the university. Ask in your hotel reception where the closer stop is. It should be next to the Your stops will be either #12 (Park Avenue and University Boulevard) or 13 (University Main Gate/Centennial Hall).
  • The public bus (SUNTRAN) is also available. These are the sample routes going from Congress st, downtown, to the university. Check the ‘suntran’ webpage for further information on itineraries, fares, etc. The daypass is $2.
  • Just for fun, you can also ride the Old Pueblo Trolley. The route, however, is very short, just covering from 4th ave and 8th st to University and Park.
