Arizona Linguistics Circle Conference

The second annual meeting of the Arizona Linguistics Circle will be held October 31 through November 2, 2008, on the University of Arizona campus. The conference aims to provide a forum for presenting research in three areas of linguistics: theoretical linguistics, experimental linguistics, and Native American linguistics.

Last year was a hit and this year we have invited Elan Dresher, Alana Johns and Stacey Oberly as our guest speakers. The ALC conference has a new website, which includes more detailed information about the conference. Please take the time to view our ALC site.

T-Shirt Ordering Information

This year we are printing new Department of Linguistics t-shirts. The front brest of the shirt includes the University of Arizona Logo and The Department of Linguistics, while the back includes a comic drawn by one of our Ph.D. students. The comic was inspired the most frequent question that all linguists have heard, "How many languages do you know?".
