The Research Group in Language Sound Structure
Researchers in phonetics and phonology in the department participate in the interdepartmental "Sound Minds" group. Bringing together researchers in linguistics, anthropology, speech, French, Spanish/Portuguese, and psychology, Sound Minds encourages collaboration across disciplines in the study of linguistic sound systems. Our group meets on a regular basis and supports invited speakers and a reading group. Our central goals are to enrich our understanding of sound systems by friendly and feisty discussion across disciplines. Our meetings are open to anyone with an interest in sound systems.
