Graduate student Mohammed Al-Sammak at Paulo Freire Freedom School
UA Department of Linguistics at Local Schools
In our effort to promote the study of Linguistics, The Department of Linguistics at The University of Arizona takes the initiative to reach out to different audiences by organizing visits to schools, community colleges and organizations. In these visits, linguists (professors and graduate students) share their knowledge with students from different levels and talk about the field of Linguistics and its different subfields.
The UA Department of Linguistics has visited BASIS Oro Valley, Ha:san Preparatory & Leadership School, Paulo Freire Freedom School, University High School and Tohono O'odham Community College. Each semester we make it our mission to volunteer at schools in the Tuscon area. If your school would like a visit from the Department of Linguistics, please email ling.outreach@gmail.com.
