I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics, with additional appointments in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT) program and the Roshan Graduate Program in Persian and Iranian Studies. I am a phonologist, and my research focuses primarily on prosody (e.g., poetic meter, intonation, and stress) and the syntax–phonology interface. Most of my work centers on Iranian languages. In addition to phonology, my research also engages with other aspects of these languages, including their morphosyntax, history, literary traditions, and contact with neighboring languages such as Arabic and Turkish.
