The area surrounding the University should provide everything you need during your stay in Tucson. However, if you are in the mood to venture a bit further, you can take the city bus, Sun Tran to most places you want to go. Taxis are rarely available curbside except downtown or near some restaurants and bars on weekend evenings/nights; however, there are many taxi companies in town which can be called for pick-up.
