Corey Roberts

I am a doctoral candidate in Linguistics with a focus in language revitalization at the University of Arizona, as well as an assistant professor of Native American and Indigenous Studies at Elon University. My doctoral work focuses on the revitalization and morphophonology of Tutelo, a Southeastern Siouan language with a community spread across Ohio, Virginia, and North Carolina. I also have research interests in language contact phenomena, areal features of the colonial and pre-colonial southeastern U.S., language planning, multilingualism, and Indigenous futurisms.
